Build a profile that's easy to read

A CV on a clipboard next to a laptop

Companies open your profile when they read your application, and find it when they search for students. It doesn't need everything you've done. It should make your strongest skills, projects and goals easy to find.

01

Most important first

Write a profession that says what you're training to be, such as “Frontend developer student”. Start your bio with the kind of internship you want and when you can start. Put your current program first under Education; it's the one shown most clearly on your profile.

02

Show how you work

Add two or three projects to your portfolio. Describe the problem, what you were responsible for and the result. If it was a group project, make your own part clear.

  • What were you trying to solve?
  • Which part did you do?
  • What did you learn or improve?
  • Is there a link, image or file that shows the result?
03

Decide what's visible

A public, complete profile can be found by any company. If you'd rather stay anonymous, make your profile private. Then only companies you've applied to and your school can see it.

Your email and phone number are only shown if you turn that on. Otherwise companies reach you through messages.

04

Keep it current

Check your links, remove old projects and turn off Available for LIA once you've found an internship. A short profile that's accurate is worth more than a long one that isn't.
